Thema:

DRM for user-generated content and P2P services

Abstract:

Nowadays, mobile phones can generate multimedia content like pictures and videos. The aim of the Diploma Thesis is to develop a scheme to protect this user-generated content (UGC) in a peer-to-peer (P2P) architecture. The presentation will focus on the use of existing Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions. The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) has already developed two DRM standards. OMA DRM 1.0 is supported by all recent phone models and can be extended to protect UGC in P2P. OMA DRM 2.0, which relies on a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), offers far more security but seems on contrary hard to implement. At last, alternative systems to establish trust will be presented.
