Analysis and optimization of future hierarchical service integrating cellular networks (HICELL) (July 2000 - )
Funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Science Foundation)Summary:
Future radio networks need an efficient traffic oriented planning methodology. This research project deals with
- Traffic oriented planning of cellular networks and their system parameters as well as methods for traffic estimation and prediction in real networks.
- Investigation of the influence of different service classes on the capacity, as well as performance evaluation of wireless admission systems to broadband networks.
This is a joint project with Lehrstuhl für Informatik III, University of Würzburg. Both groups will cooperate in the investigation of optimal base station location, taking account of channel allocation, hierarchical structures, spatial traffic models and mobility.
