Design of a minimum-cost reliable communication network for power distribution grid

Abstract:

Smart grid is growing popular to meet the ever growing power demands which is only possible by communication network. It enables the classical power grid to reduce the losses, increases efficiency, optimizes the demand distribution and make large scale renewable energy. Therefore it is necessary to design cost efficient and stable network .In this regard, I will discuss two main objectives cost and reliability. Firstly I will discuss the approach to the network design and later on try to formulate the problem as mixed integer linear programing model.
