Thema:
Market-oriented OFDMA sub-channel and power allocationAbstract:
The primary topic of discussion will be a low-complexity decentralised scheme for the allocation of sub-channels and power for access-point to terminal multi-carrier communication. Common auction formats are well-understood, relatively simple mechanism which have long been used for allocating an indivisible good to the party that values it the most, for such reasons as speed of allocation, discovery of the true “value” of the object, and fraud prevention. We utilise the Dutch auction (the price progressively falls until a participant buys the object) for sub-channel allocation. Concurrently, we utilise a pricing scheme for power allocation. This results in a relatively simple, decentralised scheme for joint sub-channel and power allocation.
Time-permitting we will also talk about an intermittently-connected, cooperative communication network in which mobility is indispensable. This network is idealised through a model in which several "random walkers" exchange information when at least two meet. Some important questions are answered, and many more are posed. Some applications will be discussed.
