Contents
A few aspects of classical cryptosystems, cryptanalysis of classical systems, perfect secrecy, fast block ciphers (AES), number-theoretic reference problems, cryptosystems based on discrete logarithm, public-key cryptography, cryptographic hash functions, signature schemes, elliptic curves
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge in stochastics and number theory.

Exam
We offer a written exam to this lecture.
Furthermore, we offer an oral reexamination "Advanced Methods of Cryptography" covering chapters 9 to 13 from the script.
Last but not least, we offer an oral reexamination "Cryptography I" covering chapters 1 to 8 from the script.
The written examination will take place on Tuesday, 18.03.2014, in TEMP1, Republikplatz 9. The exam will begin at 13:15h.
The oral examinations will take place on Friday, 14.03.2014, at our institute.
During the exam you may use a non-graphical, non-programmable calculator from this list as well as the help-sheet (Hilfsblatt) of cryptography, which will be distributed by us at the same time as the exam problems. Bringing your own material is forbidden.
Preparation
As prepartion for the exam we offer the following.
A review exercise (Zusatzübung) will take place on Wednesday 05.03.14 at 10:00h in WSH, 4th floor, seminar room 24A407. Download of the review exercise.
